A price for technological advancement
Is newer better? From the average day consumer to the connoisseur, the answer has been a resounding, "yes!" The latest gizmos and gadgets have extended a little luxury into the lives of many; adding simple conveniences that were once not there.

It is safe to say that such things as the latest state of the art releases have had some go a little mad at the local department store. Be it a new computer that's been sewn together with the latest technological advancements or the latest cell phone that's been coupled with wireless internet capabilities (Wi-Fi). Now you can use MapQuest to get directions from just about anywhere.

Entertainment consoles, just another product with groundbreaking features, such as wireless technology installed in the console's controllers resetting the standard and revolutionizing future expectations. What of the Duo Core laptop with Bluetooth technology and a standard DVD burner, obviously many would choose to accept the benefits and the direction technology has taken us.

However, let's talk price, what amount is needed to be paid for these latest and greatest innovations? Think cost, a cost that isn't written in a barcode and read by a scanner at the checkout isle, I'm not referring to money. There are billions of electronics being sold around the world, year round. We may not see the hidden cost, but there definitely is one. The main concern is what happens to these billions of electronics when they have aged or have become obsolete. The statistics inform us that electronics are upgraded every three months. Where does all the e-waste go?

Waste is disposed of in one of four ways; Landfill, Incineration, Composting, or Recycling. As we've learned, Recycling is the best method. This is when the materials used to create products and services are separated and reused in new products and services. If you feel personally moved and wish to grasp a better position on proper waste management then simply tour our website and see the abundance of information available to you.

5280 Recycling is a professional company with great reviews. Here at 5280 Recycling, drop-off recycling is free of charge. Again, due to the fact of having transportation costs to properly recycle these hazardous materials, we must charge in order to cover expenses for pickup recycling.

If you do not recycle these electronics, they will most likely end up in a landfill. Place where vast amounts of chemicals are susceptible to open exposure. These hazards are detrimental, not only to us but also to the environment. Continually consider the gravity of your amassed electronics. What has become of their placement, have they been thrown away?

Did you know that Colorado Law now requires electronics to be properly recycled? That's right, not only is this best method, it is now mandatory. You could receive fines up to $25,000.00 per day from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). I hope you remember what you've learned the next time your thinking about throwing out your old electronics.
